Q: Aideé, can you briefly describe your career to date? (in and outside of Thales as you see fit)
I started my professional career in Mexico as a branding and wayfinding designer. Over a period of 3 years I had the opportunity to work with an amazing and multidisciplinary team (developers, industrial designers, engineers). In 2015, I went back to school to obtain a master’s degree in innovation in Bordeaux (France), specializing in interactive and digital products. Following my master’s degree, I started to work at Thales Services in Toulouse as UX/UI designer. I worked on several products and prototypes for clients in different disciplines (energy, sports, transportation, space, etc.). I joined Thales Avionics in 2019, since then I’ve worked on concept digital products for business jet avionics, piloting dashboards and now drones with the ScaleFlyt Platform.
Q: Can you briefly describe your responsibilities in the ScaleFlyt Team?
I am responsible for the User eXperience (UX). This means a lot of things such as field research to know what users are missing on the platform, trying to identify what they might need in the future because of aviation regulations. I am also responsible for the digital platform’s graphic coherence. Comprehension and ease-of-use are also under my responsibility, if discovering how to use the platform and for what purpose is difficult for our users, I encourage them to contact me as soon as they can for us to work on it. Feedback to improve the platform is my favourite thing in the world.
Q: What motivated you to join ScaleFlyt as a UX Designer?
I knew ScaleFlyt before integrating the team and I was amazed by the interface experience. Easy to understand and use. When I joined the ScaleFlyt team I was completely charmed by the team’s dynamic and interest in co-constructing the product with our clients. They made me completely believe in the product. I sincerely think that the ScaleFlyt Platform has a lot of potential and can be a leader on the market. We have a strong history of working closely with end users, retaining this proximity is my main interest.
Q: Can you share with us what accomplishment(s) you are proud of, in your capacity as UX Designer?
Every time we deliver a new feature is a great day for me. Mostly if I know users are waiting for it, or better yet, they didn’t expect the new feature, and they really appreciate it! A lot of user experience work goes behind a simple feature release, this is why delivery on the real product is my favourite part.
Q: What is the thing you appreciate the most in your job at ScaleFlyt?
The willingness of the team to always think about our users’ needs first. As a technology specialist company, we work on many technologically advanced products that are often hidden from the end-user. ScaleFlyt is a product that requires extra attention to end-user needs and behaviour, we always try to work in the field for us to give priority to real and current user requirements.
