2020 was quite the year. From Zoom quizzes, to budding bakers, to an even greater appreciation for our NHS; there is no question that this year will be, undoubtedly, a memorable one.
In spite of this, at ScaleFlyt we’ve been hard at work throughout the year, continuing to bringing value to our fantastic community of ScaleFlyt users, customers and partners. As we all welcome in 2021 with combined sense of relief and optimism, we take a look back at some of the good news stories of 2020, brought to you by the ScaleFlyt team.
In May 2020, with the world in the grips of the global COVID 19 pandemic, the ScaleFlyt by Thales team worked in partnership with drone deliveries provider Skyports, on a ground-breaking, first of its kind, medical drone delivery trial to speed up transport of test kits.
Clear, legal and secure land ownership plays a vital role in a country's economic growth. We partnered with IMGeospatial in Shesh, Albania to develop an integrated service using drone-captured data and AI to help identify and register land cadastre parcels.
In a joint innovation with the UK Government’s Digital Catapult, alongside data processing start-up Transpix and Ground Level Up, we proved the value of data acquired by drones being applied to analyse local road networks.
Thanks to continuous user feedback from our incredible community of drone pilots, 2020 saw the next generation release of ScaleFlyt, or as we like to call it: ScaleFlyt V2.
This huge upgrade was designed specifically to ensure that ScaleFlyt solves the pain points of day-to-day mission planning. With exciting new features such as rich map interrogation, non-linear mission planning and a brand-new user interface, the new upgrade paved the way for the fantastic suite of features that followed.
Our next major upgrade to the ScaleFlyt platform came in the form of our most requested feature: Mission Export. This new addition allowed users to export missions into fully flexible, high-quality PDF documents,.
The mission reports generated include all of the planning information entered into ScaleFlyt throughout the mission planning process, enabling users to share professional, fully compliant mission documentation with customers and other stakeholders.
In October 2020, we announced the launch of ScaleFlyt Organisations.
As our biggest ever upgrade, ScaleFlyt Elevate and Enterprise users can now collaborate on projects with their whole team on a single, streamlined, digital platform.
This update makes it easier for existing drone teams to maintain a central record of all planning and flight information for compliance and audit. We even built in an integrated chat feature, so you can always stay connected with your team members.
December saw the introduction of enhanced map annotations, significantly strengthening ScaleFlyt's intelligent mapping functionality.
These improvements mean that teams and individuals are now able to plan their drone missions to an even higher degree of accuracy and visibility, helping to further mitigate risk and keep a live, central point of record. Specifically:
